Tutu costumes! I love them. So my baby girl had to have one. Not just the typical, princess, fairy or ballerina. Something a bit more unique and memorable. I love how it came out and how simply adorable by Baby Chicken is... because tutus are for everyday!
Four wonderful tutus will have a new home at the Thompson Inn and Tea House in Longmont. This is a lovely victorian home where you can visit for afternoon tea or stay the night in the B&B. I wanted to do a black and orange "Halloween" tutu but was too chicken to possibly get stuck with it myself. Maybe next year. My hope is these four will be Christmas gifts to some lucky little girls... because tutus are for everyday!
Just some tutu fun hanging around here. I have some more creations brewing in my mind that I plan to start working on soon. I'm trying to figure out ways to photograph the tutus with enough detail but so you can also tell it is a tutu!
It took 8 days to make the first 8 tutus for the shop. I'm very happy with the results. It will be exciting to see something I made in a shop near my house. Even more fun to know some little girl will get to swirl and twirl and feel really special in my creation... because tutus are for everyday!
Now that I have a buyer for my tutus I was able to order a whole bunch of tulle (17 rolls) of my choice. I have been able to make 1 tutu per day in preparation for them going into the shop. Every free minute is spent cutting and tying the tulle and at the end of each, I am delighted by my creation! Here is pre-tutu...
I made this tutu for this lovely young miss for her 5th birthday! This photo shoot was done in Boulder by jamiemariephotography. What a treat for the eyes because tutus are for everyday!
This small pile of tulle... became this wonderful little tutu. It was made for a first birthday gift. I hope the birthday girl will enjoy wearing it everyday! If I can get her photo in it I will post that too. Happy tutu wearing everyone!
As I stated my daughter inspired me to learn tutu making. She is everything precious. Here is her 3 week old photo shoot in the tutu made just for her! Photos by my friend E. House Photography. Doesn't your little one need photos like these... because tutus are for everyday!
I don't consider myself a very crafty or creative person but my love of frilly, sparkly, girly and fun is answered through a tutu. They are just sweet and so feminine. I love that. I used to change my clothes constantly as a young girl and I had the young girl dream of being a ballerina. I took many dance classes and loved ballet most because of the pink skirts and tutus I got to wear. So here I find myself 30 years later making tutus. Here are my first creations. Starting basic. The craft will grow and I look forward to sharing photos of the tutu journey. I'd love your feedback and creative suggestions. Because everyday is a tutu day!
